Some Philadelphia High School students are participating in the Philadelphia Marathon, after training for it since February.
After 9 months of training, kids involved with Students Run Philly Style are finally participating in the run they've worked all year for. Running leader Cedric Edwards:
"We get students from around the city to train for the marathon. It's the only program in the country that does this. So it's a great thing for students to get out of their normal sedentary lives and run a full or a half marathon."
(Kuznits:) "What's the incentive for a kid to run 26.2 miles?"
"To cross the finish line."
13-year-old Benjamin Trieu says he's gained a lot from the program:
"I've learned that there are obstacles in life and you're going to have to charge through them."
And while transforming on the inside, he's also managed to change his outside:
"Yeah, I've been really looking after what I eat. Like, I used to not eat breakfast and now I eat breakfast and I've got kind of slimmer, too."
